Hello! It’s been a while….too long!
Now that the weather is getting nice, there are SO many things to do here in the gorge! I’m excited to tell you all about one of my favorite projects I finished here in Hood River.
I furnished this modern loft/feel vacation home. It presented itself instantly with some challenges. I’d never worked with a client remotely. They live many states away and we relied heavily on email and iPhone photos! This couple was looking for local items to fill their new vacation home. They wanted as many things to be resourced locally including furniture. The high quality, standards and the style fit perfectly with a company I found in Portland, OR called the Joinery. In the furniture world many companies who make furniture are located back east. So Portland is pretty local when you think about that. If you have not heard of this place then you are missing out! But by no means are they economical for the average “Joe.” The furniture is a pretty penny but worth it. The mahogany dining table is a solid slab of wood weighing roughly 200 lbs. Furniture to pass down for generations.
I really felt like the style of this furniture not only complimented the style of the loft by of the gorge lifestyle. Beautiful, sleek and forever home! The area rug in the living room really ties everything together with colors and the pattern.
When it came time to add accessories for the photo-shoot I did with Jen Jones Photography many people came together to help! I want to give special thanks to Twiggs in Hood River, At Home on Oak Street, and Trellis fresh flowers and Gifts. I got all of the accessories from Twiggs. The bedding came from At Home on Oak and the beautiful flower arrangements came from Trellis. Seriously, this is what’s all about living in the gorge. People are always helping each other grow and become better.
It was a fabulous project to work on! I hope you all can bring a little of the gorge inside your home!
