This was a fun and unique challenge. The tasting room is located within a larger space shared by other businesses, has no natural light, is rectangular, and felt a bit like a cave.
We needed to differentiate the entry from other surrounding business, and draw attention to the tasting room from the street. We also needed to maximize use in the rectangular floor plan to create a comfortable area for groups, both small and large.
Design began with a beautiful entry door, signage, and lighting that drew attention to the tasting room. It continued by adding high windows, letting in exterior light, turning a cave like space into an inviting and cozy wine bar. I included a staging area for the band, and drew up layout to maximize seating for large groups while still creating a welcoming cozy feel for a group of four. Cheers!
